Bethany Richer
REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST (QUALIFYING) - M.A.C.P.
Welcome, I'm Bethany. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) located in Ottawa, Ontario.
I’ve always been drawn to understanding people, their stories, their struggles, their resilience, and the parts of themselves they may not often feel safe sharing out loud. Over time, I realized how powerful it can be to have a space where you feel genuinely heard, supported, and accepted without judgment.
In both my training and clinical work, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children, teens and young adults navigating anxiety, self-doubt, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, and periods of feeling stuck or disconnected from themselves.
Above all, I strive to bring warmth, authenticity, and compassion into the therapy room. My work is grounded in person-centred and developmentally responsive care with a strong foundation on creating a space where individuals feel heard and understood.
Whether you’re navigating a difficult time, trying to better understand yourself, or simply looking for a space to breathe and reconnect, my hope is that our work together feels grounding, collaborative, and supportive from the very beginning.
“Empathy is the foundation of change.”
My Approach
A warm, calming space where you can finally breathe again.
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable. That’s why creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment is at the heart of my practice. From the moment you enter the space, my goal is for you to feel comfortable, understood, and free to show up exactly as you are.
I’ve intentionally created a therapy space that feels calm, grounded, and comforting. A place where children, teens and young adults can slow down, let their guard down, and reconnect with themselves at their own pace. Together, we create space for reflection, healing, growth, and meaningful change.

OUTSIDE THE THERAPY ROOM
A Life that shapes work
I believe the best therapists are people first. The way I care for myself outside the therapy room allows me to show up with presence, steadiness, and compassion inside it.
Therapy is deeply human work, and I believe healing happens through genuine connection. I bring the whole of who I am into the room (warmth, curiosity, authenticity, and care) and I invite you to do the same, at your own pace.
My hope is that our work together feels less like being “analyzed” and more like having a space where you can breathe, feel understood, and reconnect with yourself.
A little about me, beyond the credentials
Beyond my role as a therapist, I’m someone who values spending time with family, friends and myself. Outside of my practice, you’ll usually find me outdoors, reading a good book, at the gym, at a music festival/concert or enjoying quiet moments that help me recharge and stay grounded.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and genuine. I don’t believe you need to arrive with the “right words” or have everything figured out before starting therapy. Often, the hardest part is simply reaching out. If something in you is feeling drawn toward support, even quietly, I encourage you to listen to that. Our first conversation is simply a place to begin: no pressure, no expectations, just space to see whether this feels like the right fit for you.
